I’ve always been intrigued by weather. I find the soft kisses of rain against my skin and the subtle strength of wind enchanting. While I do not regularly contemplate it, it’s hard to avoid turning your attention to the elements when a hurricane is traveling due west toward your general vicinity. That and the daily update meetings at work. Since Ala Moana Center is in a flood zone (there are pluses and minus to working across from a beach park) we vigilantly track the path of the storm.
One of the sources we use is Windyty.com. If you have never visited this website you absolutely must! You can actually scroll around the entire world and view color-coded wind, rain and snow, temperature, waves, and pressure patterns. It’s truly a work of art crafted by the greatest Artist. Watching it the other day reminded me of how very, very tiny I am and how massive our world is. I am also reminded that I am loved dearly by a God who holds this world in His hands. The wind and the waves obey His command. He controls their patterns, paths and peaks. Oh how sweet it is to know His love!
“The men were amazed and asked, ‘What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!'”
