Three out of four times we drive past Sandy’s my husband looks out at the vast crystal blue water and says, “This drive always reminds me that we are in the middle of the ocean on a very small island.” I thought about that on my early run a few days ago as we watched the sun rise and the stars disappear. Our island seems small when we think of the grand ocean but it becomes minuscule as I stare into the clouds. We are a tiny spec in a huge galaxy. A galaxy designed by a great and mighty God. We are small in comparison and yet each one of us is huge in His eyes. He, in His infinite sovereignty, cares for each of us in a way we are incapable of truly comprehending.
There are many people around me who are walking through great trials and clinging to the promise that our God is good and in control. As I read through Deuteronomy the other day I came across this scripture.
Know therefore today, and take it to your heart, that the Lord, He is God in heaven above and on the earth below; there is no other.
~ Deuteronomy 4:39
He is God and there is no other. The creator God who designed this massive world and paints the sky every morning and night is intimately involved in our lives. He is good and we can trust His perfect plan. I pray that we would all take this truth to heart today. Cast your cares and worries on Him for He cares for you in a great, great way.
