I’ll admit it, I’m just a little competitive. Okay, I’m very competitive. So when we received a hobnob invite for our friend’s annual gingerbread house competition I knew we had to come up with something great. I’ve only participated one other time and let’s just say my design didn’t exactly wow anyone.
After a few minutes of brainstorming Luke and I came up with the perfect idea. We decided to build Ala Moana Center! What better way to win a gingerbread house competition than with the world’s largest open air shopping center? We knew it would take some planning so we drew blue prints for all three levels. Of course we had to include the new nine level parking structure, palm trees, Big Santa, three Christmas trees, Centerstage and Santa’s new ornament shaped home. (Or as our friends call it, Santa’s death star.) We even included edible department store logos.
It took us over a hour to build but it was completely worth it. We won!
