For those of you who don’t speak Spanish (and let’s be honest, mine is far from perfecto), the title says “my best special friend”. That sentence almost brought my husband to tears a week or so ago. We sponsor a child in Peru. His name is Anderson Rojas Abate and he will be six in November. Luke started sponsoring him before we were married and now we support him together. We write him letters, send pictures and pray for him (although I need to do that more often). He also writes to us, as much as a five year old can, and draws us pictures. In his last letter he called Luke his mejor amigo especial, his best special friend.
This is all done though an organization call Compassion and I highly recommend you look into it. It’s probably the most rewarding $45 we spend every month. $45 is not a lot of money but it means the world to Anderson and thousands of other children around the world. Most of us can spare $45. It means cutting back on Starbucks, eating out one less time a month or not buying another pair of heels. Seriously consider sponsoring a child today. Maybe try searching for a child with your same birth date or in a country that you’ve always wanted to visit. I mean, how could you say no to this face?
